Introduction

During the first six months of Task Force meetings, two community forum were held concerning prostitution and San Francisco neighborhoods. Minutes of these forum, and additional testimony concerning prostitution in the neighborhoods was presented in the interim report. (See Task Force Interim report, Exhibits: Section III, Neighborhood Issues Committee).

In October 1994, The Task Force agreed to schedule hearings, and request testimony to document the experience of sex workers. The following transcripts and statements were compiled from presentations to the Task Force by prostitutes, former prostitutes and other sex workers and advocates submitted to the Task Force. Some presentations from this hearing have not been included, as a number of those who testified requested that their presentations not be included in a written report.
