Taiwan’s Legal Prostitutes

Although the political climate that favors corporations has nearly destroyed the US labor movement, in Taiwan and other Asian municipalities the vibrant labor movement contributes to the sex worker rights movement. Our international guest this year is union activist  Wang Fang Ping, former Taipei City Council candidate and Secretary General of COSWAS,Taiwan's Coalition of Sex Workers and Supporters.

The Sex Worker Festival has screened work from COSWAS in former festivals and we are proud to screen "Our Life Saving Vinegar" about an economic development project for Taipei's former legal prostitutes. Fang Ping will present clips from some of the actions of COSWAS and speak about her experiences with this movement.
